Dental Implants Ferntree Gully – replace missing teeth.

Teeth that look and feel like your own

Confidence with your teeth affects how you feel about yourself. Perhaps you hide your smile because of spaces from missing teeth. Maybe your dentures don’t feel secure. Perhaps you have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, there is good news. Dental implants are teeth that look and feel just like your own.

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that a specially trained dentist places into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. This is an ideal option for people who have lost a tooth (or teeth) due to periodontal disease, injury, or some other reason. The high-tech nature of dental implant implants, allows the implant to gain support from the underlying bone.& they do not rely on adjacent teeth for support. Dental implants look and behave like real teeth.

Dental implants are artificial roots, usually made of titanium which fuse to the jaw bone, and help attach one or more missing teeth. There are several treatment options available, depending on whether one or more teeth need to be replaced, or whether all the upper or lower teeth need replacement, including the exciting new “Teeth in an Hour”.

What are implants used for?

Ferntree Gully Dental implants offer solutions to patients who have lost multiple or single teeth, and to those people who are tired of, or can’t get along with dentures, & would like teeth that stay in their mouths all the time. The procedure is very gentle and usually done under local anaesthetic.

The procedure

Your first step is to arrange a consultation where we can start working on your specific needs. Important diagnostic information may include photographs, X-rays and models of your teeth. Some X-rays called CT (computerised tomography) are undertaken by a radiologist.

Once we have discussed your needs, treatment may begin. Treatment time depends upon what needs to be done. Sometimes you can have a new tooth or several teeth fitted in one day. Many options range within one visit or over three to six months. Sometimes, if we need to augment the bone, treatment may take about six months.

There are usually two phase to most implant procedures, the placement and the restorative phase. The time between these two phases depend on individual circumstances. Please note the placement of an implant in the jaw involves a surgical procedure which carries risk. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

What does a Dental Implant cost?

There are several costs involved obtaining a Dental Implant. Firstly there is the surgical component, inserting the implant into the bone. This is then allowed to heal. Once healed a Dental Abutment is placed on the dental implant. A ceramic crown is then placed on the implant. At Mountain Gate Dental we offer all 4 procedures for a combined total of $3699.

Success rate and aftercare

The success rate is one of the highest of any dental procedure, and dental implants Ferntree Gully have created a new paradigm replacing many of the older less successful procedures in dentistry. Once the final teeth are placed, there are no restrictions, and you can certainly eat with confidence as you would with natural teeth. We will show you how to care for your implants after they have been placed.
